Review: Pixi x Caroline Hirons | Double Cleanse

Sunday 25 June 2017

Yes, I know that this has been out what seems like forever but since I heard about this collaboration, I really wanted to try it. I currently own (and still love) the Pixi Glow Tonic, which has been an absolute gem for my skin since I got it so thought it would be good to give this a try, assuming it was going to be just as good.

So, this is the Double Cleanse from Pixi, in collaboration with Caroline Hirons. It's a 2-in-1 product so ideal if you are travelling. The tub is split into two, 1 side is the solid cleansing oil, which is good for removing makeup and the other side is the cleansing cream, to help cleanse your face. Although it's in a circular tub, it's easy to identify which is which so you shouldn't find yourself putting the cream on thinking it's the oil. The packaging is really pretty, keeping with a green theme and adding pink and some gold detailing. I am a sucker for good packing, I might have mentioned that before :)

So, onto the actual product itself. I had a small amount of makeup on my face, so I got a small blob of oil and rubbed it all over. It 'melted' my makeup so quickly, it didn't really take any effort to get it off but I did have panda eyes, thanks to the mascara and eyeliner. Imagine if I had a red or dark lipstick on. I'd look like a clown :D Once I felt it had lifted all of my makeup, I got a moist facecloth and wiped it all off. It did a cracking job, there wasn't one bit of makeup left on my face.

Now with a clear and makeup-free face, I did the same again with the cream, just massaging it thoroughly and removing with a moist facecloth. The cream is so gentle on my skin and felt really soft once it was all cleaned and dried. My eyelashes seemed like they were wet afterwards (I touched them and they didn't feel it), so I don't know if I didn't quite get rid of the oil from that area but I easily rinsed a cloth and managed to remove it.

Ta-da, everything gone and my face is all clean. I'm really quite happy with how these have worked there magic, as I was thinking I'd probably need more than a 'coin size' amount to actually remove makeup with the oil. The oil didn't feel nasty or gritty on the skin and the cream was a nice consistency. Not too oily or thick but enough to leave your skin feeling lovely and soft.

Some of the key ingredients, the oil contains vitamin E, camellia oil and evening primrose oil, all good to protect, nourishes, heals and moisturises your skin. The cream contains vitamin C, peptide complex and arginine, which protects, plumps and improves cell renewal and elasticity. It's paraben free and not tested on animals.

I do like this product. It's handy to take on holiday with you as you don't have to go taking multiple bottles of products and instead, just one tub. It costs £24 and I believe that it's going to last quite a while but I think I'm going to run out of one before the other, which will be a bit annoying but, I'll just have to wait and see.

Do you own this product? What do you think?
